Reading class is an activity primarily conducted for / with children from 3rd to 8th grade, continuing their education in government schools, by a Book Fairy. The Book Fairy is a community-level person specially trained and appointed to develop the reading skills of the children of the municipal corporation during school hours within the school premises, mobilizing the participation of school teachers and authorities. One of the core objectives of Reading Class Programme (RCP) is to help children from Adi Dravidar Welfare Schools / Corporation Schools and Government Schools read by giving books and offering different activities. Precisely, the objective of the project was to develop the skills of children in reading to improve their learning capacities (reading, writing, listening, expression, and vocabulary) in municipal and government schools.
